I was born in Montego Bay, Saint James, Jamaica and grew up in Westmoreland, Jamaica and in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
I have been doing genealogical research since the mid-1980s. It was estimated that I'm mainly of West African descent but I do not know when my ancestors arrived in North America or if they were enslaved.
Other ancestors include the Taino Indians, the English, Scottish and Irish but more so the Jews of the Iberian Peninsular and perhaps the Royal Families of Europe (Oral accounts).
I'm interested in collaborating with other researchers to discover my African roots and find paper trails and DNA link to my Jewish and possible Royal Ancestry.
I'm also predisposed to share information with fellow researchers and to assist others with their own research projects.
These are the surnames I'm presently researching:
Anderson... Anglin... Atkins... Baily... Barnes... Bell... Bennett... Bernard... Booker... Brown... Bryon... Buchanan... Butler... Campbell... Carter... Clarke... Costa... Davis... de Freitas... Decarish... Dias... Faulknor... Fernandes... Foulkes... Gomes... Gomez... Gordon... Green... Hall... Harding... Harris... Haughton... Hill... Hillman... Hughes... Jackson... Johnson... Jones... Lewis... Lopez... Martinez... Mcfarlane... Miller... Montgomery... O'Brien... Pereira... Pringle... Reid... Ricketts... Riley... Robertson... Robinson... Rodrigues... Silva... Smith... Spence... Stewart... Taylor... Thomas... Thompson... Tolbert... Walker... Walton... Webb... White... Williams... Winter...
Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand Pre-1700 Profiles. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines on that page.

Where in Portugal are you researching? Best of luck with your searches!
Mindy
Thanks for your interest. Since my DNA matches linked to places all over the Iberian Peninsular and islands of the coast, I'm focusing my research on no specific region in Portugal. My primary focus is on the areas where I find the Gomes/Gomes and associated surnames.
Hence, I'm researching the entire Iberian Penensular as well as the following Portuguase Islands:
Sao Miguel Cape Verde Ilha De Armona Madeira Pico Flores Ilha Da Tavira Terceira Porto Santo Faial Island
