Biography

Alice A. Stetson was born 13 May 1872 at Dover, VT.^[1] She was the daughter of Ezra Stetson and Artimesia Stetson.^[2]

She married Wallace Allen on 5 Jun 1894^[1][2] in the Village of Jacksonville, VT.^[3] The couple had three children during their 15 year marriage.^[4][5]

Alice passed away on 30 may 1909 at Whitingham, VT.^[1] and was laid to rest in the Jacksonville Cemetery in the Village of Jacksonville.^[1]

Our research shows three children born to the couple. There was a daughter, Minerva, born in 1895 who lived to be 102 years of age.^[6], a son, Myron,^[7] born in 1897 who lived to age 96, and an unnamed male^[8] who was still born in 1909.

But that only tells half (or maybe 2/3) of the story. The still born child would not have shown in the 1900 census.^[4] It is therein stated that they had three children during their marriage and three children survived. Yet, that being clearly stated, there is only one child enumerated - Myron. Minerva is nowhere to be seen. And who was the third child, born before the 1900 census and still surviving at that time?
