Biography

Andrew Edwin Stanner was born 24 December 1869.^[1]

On 27 July 1897 A Stenner, second cook, arrived In New Zealand on the Tasmania from Sydney.^[2]

On 1 June 1903 he married Mary Hanly in Paddington, New South Wales, Australia.^[3] He stated he was born Bath, England and his occupation was mariner. His parents were John Stanner (deceased), occupation planter, and Margaret McCann.^[4]

In January and March 1904 he served as chief cook on the Konoowarra sailing between Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. He stated he was born in Bath.^[5]

He was appointed 2nd assistant keeper of Nobby’s (Newcastle NSW) Lighthouse on 7 September 1904.^[1]

Andrew died 18 June 1909.^[6][7] He was buried in South Head Cemetery, Vaucluse, New South Wales.^[8]

Application will be made after fourteen days from the publication hereof that administration of the Estate of the above-named deceased may be granted to MARY CATHERINE STANNER. the Widow of the said deceased, and all notices may be served at Nobbys Lighthouse, Newcastle.
