Solomon was born in 1825. The 1855 census says he was born in Ireland, but other records say he was born in Scotland. He was married to a Mary May, born England.
In the 1855 census Solomon (age 30) was the head of household in Ward 7, Syracuse, Onondaga, New York, United States. He was a stone mason and had resided in Syracuse for 8 years (his wife, 4 years) [1]
