Born in Thistle Feb. 27, 1920 to Gladys Jane Gates and Claude Lynn Spaugy.

Willie worked many years for the Uintah National Park Service in Vernal and retired from the Wasatch National Forest Service as personnel director in Provo in 1980. She was Worthy Grand Matron of Utah for the Order of Eastern Star in 1976.

Mother of Samuel Burton (Gloria) Smith of Las Vegas, Nev.; Mariana (Fred) Jensen of Arvada, Colo.; Claude LeRoy Smith of Concho, Ariz. Sister to Joan Elsberry, Loomis, Calif.; A and Bud Spaugy, Reno, Nev. She had 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two husbands, LeRoy W Smith and John G(Bud)Conway; sisters, Hallie Backus and Gladlyn Petersen Harrison.
