About the Project

The Zornes Name Study project serves as a collaborative platform to collect information on the Zornes name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join the study to help make it a valuable reference point for other genealogists who are researching or have an interest in the Zornes name.

As a One Name Study, this project is not limited to persons who are related biologically. Individual team studies can be used to branch out the research into specific methods and areas of interest, such as geographically (England Zornes'), by time period (18th Century Zornes'), or by topic (ZornesDNA, Zornes Occupations, Zornes Statistics). These studies may also include a number of family branches which have no immediate link with each other. Some researchers may even be motivated to go beyond the profile identification and research stage to compile fully sourced, single-family histories of some of the families they discover through this name study project.

  • Emma MacBeath - I have started this study because there is so much confusion about where this line started--who married whom and which children belong to which couple, etc. I found very few primary sources for this line. It has so far been based on conjecture and a pedigree from Family Search (with no sources). There are multiple profiles on WikiTree that probably need merging, but this cannot be done until the pedigree is sourced.

My line is linked to Samuel F. Zornes and his son, Daniel Edward Zornes. I have 1910 census info for them in Watonga, Oklahoma.
