I'm not even officially in yet, but as my pre-revolutionary war ancestors married across the carolina/georgia border, or even born one place and buried in the other state, I'd say merging them into current resource pages would be most meaningful.

I also have a question. Can I put files I've been working on into the mix? The profiles have room for more sourcing and information and would really benefit from giving me the option of bringing them in.

and one more question: would Salzburgers be notable and not applicable? or can we include these poor over worked austrians that settled in Effington County?

Not sure what you mean by merging "them" into one resource page.

If by "files" you mean profiles, yes, as long as they fall within the scope of the project (pre-1776). That includes your Salzburgers.
