Julia (Baxter) Potter wrote the poem and her daughter Mary Potter typed the note about the reunion. Copies were sent to local newspapers and to Herman W. Smith. Julia also sent a letter to Herman telling him about the reunion and identifying the family members. Julia was 86 when she wrote this, she was the oldest member of the family that attended the reunion.

"The ninth annual reunion of the descendants of Nathan Baxter Jr. was held at the old home of his son Aaron, now owned by his great great great granddaughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Tweedie."
