My maternal three times GGF Paul Black Paul Black (1772-1850) was born in Ireland, possibly County Antrim in 1772. By 1805 he was living in Kilsyth, Stirlingshire, Scotland.

He married Anne Jamieson Anne (Jamieson) Black (1787-abt.1841) in Kilsyth on 15 Aug 1805.

He is my biggest brick wall on my maternal side. This page has been created to research

when, why and with whom he came to Scotland.

What other Blacks lived around Kilsyth at that time.

Also to research Black records starting in County Antrim.

I've hit on this county as they took in a lodger Robert Harden Robert Harden (1816-1880) who came from Antirm. Harden later married their daughter Isabella Isabella (Black) Harden (1817-). It has been said that when people immigrated to Scotland they tended to settle with friends etc who came from the same area in Ireland. I could be way out with Antrim but here goes.
