1870 Farm Valuation Census for 45 acre improved land farm in Belfast ME for farm for Samuel Southworth. [2] It is interesting to note that his farm is worth $2500 and that he owns one horse, one milking cow, and two pigs, which animals have a value of $350.

In 1880 Census[3], 80 year old Samuel and his 77 year old wife Jane Kalloch/Halleck Southworth lived in Belfast, Maine, where Samuel was a farmer and Jane kept the house, which was shared by their recently widowed son Dana (44) who operated the Belfast Livery Stables and their single daughter Augusta (34) who was a milliner. Dana's children, having lost their mother just 2 years before, in 1878, also lived in their grandparents' home: Fred, age 15; Edith, age 10; Ralph Dana, age 7. Plus, Samuel and Jane's daughter Phebe (39) and her husband Capt. Royal Warren (42), a Master Mariner, resided there in 1880.

My 3rd Great Grandfather - he is the one who owned the family farm on my father's side of the family. Dad spoke well of the farm in Belfast ME on Lincolnville Road.
