DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships.
It is likely that these
autosomal DNA
test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
Our family history (and some DNA matches), indicate that the wife of William Sooter was Anna Matlock, daughter of Luke and Charity Matlock. You will note that in 1860, a Luke Matlock aged 94 is living with the Sooters, as well as Jemima Matlock, and Absalom Matlock. Jemima and Absalom are together in the 1850 census in Dickson Tennessee, along with E D Matlock.
Jemima is living as head-of-household in 1850 in Dickson, TN with two likely children, E D Matlock and Absalom Matlock. She is then found in Missouri with Luke Matlock Sr in 1860, also with Absalom. She is found in 1880 with Luke Matlock, son on Benjamin (son of the Luke found with the Sooters in 1860, in Dade County MS, and listed as his aunt. This would make her a sister or sister-in-law of his father Benjamin, and daughter or daughter-in-law of Luke, Sr.
Is there evidence that the Anna married to William Sooter was a Fly? There are Fly families all around them in Missouri, but I have found nothing that is compelling evidence that Anna Sooter was a Fly, but a lot of compelling evidence (and DNA matches) that point to Anna being a Matlock. Am I missing something? Thanks!
