Alexander David Solomon was born in 1855 in London, England, the son of Sarah (Jacobs) Solomons and Solomon Solomons ^[1].

He emigrated to Australia in 1865 on the "Brown".^[2]

He married Catherine Hope in 1882 in Victoria, Australia.^[3] Their children were:^{[citation needed]}
