Biography

Annetje Joana born about 1640 Norway, came to America ....she married first on 23 October 1660 in New Amsterdam to Jan Sodelaars who was a Blacksmith, and a Soldier in employ of the East India Co. [1]

As a widow, Annetje (nee Sodelaars) Sprong, before 15 Sep 1694, was re-married to Claes Tunisse Clear. In fact this marriage occurred 12 Feb 1692 as shown by the church record shown below under Church Records. [2]

Jonica Sprung signed pre-nuptial regarding property with Claes Tunison Clere 15 Nov 1692 Marbletown, Ulster, NY. [3]

5 Sep 1694 Annike, widow of John Sprongh late of the Ferry in Brooklyn, and husband Claes Tunise Clere, now dwelling at Marbletown, Ulster Co., deed Jacob Rutgertz of Kingston a cottage lot at the Ferry in Brooklyn, lately owned by Sprongh near land of John Smith and Jores Jacobs. Both sign by mark "Cleer." Wit. Wm Nichols, Humphrey Davenport, Recorded 30 Oct 1694. [4]
