James Dean "Jim" Snowdon KENTVILLE- The death of James Dean "Jim" Snowdon, age 60 of Kentville, Nova Scotia occurred Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville from the ravages of cancer. Born in Sackville, New Brunswick on September 16, 1947, he was the son of the late Walter and Elfleda (Spencer) Snowdon of Wood Point, New Brunswick. He was educated at Mount Allison University and UNB and was active in the fields of culture, heritage and education. He was a dealer in antiques and art and taught courses in History and Canadian Studies at Acadia University for many years. He is survived by his wife, Susan (Nussey); daughter, Sarah, Halifax; step-daughter, Bree-Ann (Stephen) Lightfoot, Hammonds Plains; step-son, Carey Blair, Halifax and two grandchildren, Abigail and Seth Lightfoot; sister, Doris (Ronald) Dummer, Cambridge, Ontario; brothers, Donald (Colleen), Cambridge, Ontario; William (Elizabeth) and Dale (Brenda), both of Wood Point, New Brunswick; Richard (Shirley), Quispamsis, New Brunswick; as well as many very special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, sister, Catherine Hicks and brother, Robert Snowdon. Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be buried in the Westcock Cemetery, Westcock, New Brunswick at a later date. No flowers please. A celebration and reception will be held in the near future and friends will be invited to share their thoughts in word, song and poetry.
