Biography

John Kane Smyth was born about 1837 in New York. He was the son of Charles Smyth and Cornelia Adeline Kane.

In 1885 at Waverley, Sydney, he married Ada Mary Sands.^[1]

John and Ada had children:

1. John Sands Smyth m Nellie Beatrice C Crouch
2. Mary Grant Smyth m Keith Moore Whiting
3. Marjory Jane Smyth m Frederick Spencer Burnell
4. Sybil Rosamund Smyth m Reginald Mitchell Hore

He passed away on 14 April 1891 at Waverley.^[2][3][4]

John Kane Smyth was interred in Waverley Cemetery.^[6] Probate was granted on 18 September 1891.^[7]
