In the will of Robert Smithe, gentleman of Corsham, Wiltshire, the will made on 10 Dec 1599 and proved on 18 Jan 1599/1600[2], he made a bequest as follows:
"Item I give and bequeathe unto my loving sister Bridgett Berrine widowe the full sume of thirtie poundes of good and lawful monie of England to be paid tenn pundes yearelie for thre yeares next on ensuing after my death".
In the will of Phillip Smithe, gentleman, of Corsham, the will made on 20 Mar 1601/1602 and proved on 06 Oct 1602[3] he made a bequest as follows:
"All the rest of my goodes cattells chattels ....[etc] .. I doe fullie and wholie give and bequeath unto my welbeloved sister Bridget Bryan, whom I doe ordeine and make Executrix of this my said last will and Testament".
1604-1605: Suit concerning Bridget Byrom, widow, brought against her brother Mathew Smith and other members of the Smith family regarding the Manors of Blackland and Corsham that were "lately belonging to Robert Smith".[4]
02 Apr 1608: 'Bridgitt Biram' recorded in the manor court records of Corsham claiming a house and lands surrendered to her about seven years previously by her brother Phillip Smythe.[5]
Bridget 'Byram', widow, was buried on 17 Jan 1627/1628 at Corsham, Wiltshire.[6]
