Biography

Reuben was born on October 8, 1858 at Huntsville in Scott County, Tennessee. He was the son of Isaac Smithers and Susanah Jane ( Yancey ) Smithers, Strunk . Reuben married Martha Thompson on April 12, 1874 in Scott County. He worked as a coal miner and passed away on May 21, 1908 at Newcomb in Campbell County, Tennessee.
