Vickie (Smither) Williams is a part of US Black heritage.

Vickie Jean Smither was born in Huntsville, Texas on 12 March 1953 to Luby Leroy Smither and Dorothy Mae Scott. She married Frank B. Williams on 26 January 1974 in Walker County, Texas.[1] They had 3 children. Vickie died on her 35th wedding anniversary; her husband also died on their wedding anniversary in 2020. She is buried at South End Cemetery in Huntsville, Texas.[2]

Obituary

Mrs. Vickie Smither Williams, 55, of Missouri City passed away Jan. 26, 2009, in Fort Bend County. She was born March 12, 1953, in Walker County.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael C. Davis Sr., pastor. The Rev. Patrick Sutphen will preside. Burial will follow in the Southend Cemetery. At the request of the family there will be no viewing or visitation.
Marcus Brigance, Shannon Byrd, Johnny Jones, Blanton Moore, Coleman Porter, Robert Staten and Joe Vickers will serve as pallbearers.
A 1971 graduate of Huntsville High School, Vickie was a member of Grace Community Fellowship Church in Missouri City. Mrs. Williams was employed as Senior Scientific Editor with M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy M. Smither of Huntsville; husband, the Rev. Frank B. Williams of Missouri City; sons, Jason Williams (Kameka) of Pearland, and Jarred Williams (Courtney) of Missouri City; daughter, Jessica Williams Horn (Patrick) of Houston; sister, Dr. Marilyn Byrd of Huntsville; 8 grandchildren; and host of other relatives and friends.[3]
