Jeremiah Moulton Smith, the first child of William Smith, Sr. and Elizabeth (Betty) Street was born ca. 1765, in Cumberland County, Kentucky, married (1) Unknown Unknown, ca. 1789 (2) Diana Henson, in Barren County, Kentucky, ca. 1806. He had two wives. The first bore him 7 or 8 children and his last wife 3. Two or three of his first wife's children got killed in a flax patch, the lap of a tree falling on them and wounded another making him a cripple for life. His name was William Foubis Smith. He married a Miss Rickett and they have 5 children. Jeremiah Moulton Smith died after March 25, 1817, and before May, 1817, in Barren County, Kentucky.
IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, I Jeremiah Smith of Barren County State of Kentucky do ordain this my Last Will and Testament. I do will and bequeath to my loving wife Diana to have and to hold my lands and all my moving property and the Avisen in form of same during her widowhood or unto the youngest child becomes of age of twenty-one and then to be divided equally betwixt Patey, Bettsey, Crouse, Aney, William, Margaret, Suckey, Elsey, George.
Third: I appoint my beloved wife Diana and Henry Simson, Esq. of Barren County

Barren County to wit May County Court 1817 - This instrument in writing purporting to be the last will of Jeremiah Smith dec’d was produced in court and proved by the oaths of Williamson Davis and Robert Lark, two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and thereupon the said writing was ordered to be recorded as the true last Will and Testament of the said Jeremiah Smith dec’d.
