Queensland Times, Ipswich Herald and General Advertiser (Qld. : 1861 - 1908), Thu 19 May 1892, Page 4 QUEENSLAND NEWS. Patrick Joseph Smith, aged twelve years, son of Patrick Smith, of the Bellinamore Hotel at Bajool, was playing Saturday on a log projecting over a waterhole close to the hotel when he fell into the water and was drowned. The body was got out in quarter of an hour, but all efforts to restore animation failed.

The Daily Northern Argus (Rockhampton, Qld. : 1875 - 1896), Mon 16 May 1892, Page 5 GENERAL NEWS. Patrick Smith, who keeps the publichouse at that place, went to a small creek not far from his home, accompanied by several of his playfellows. The creek is naturally bridged over by a fallen tree. On this, young Smith attempted to cross the water, being followed by his younger brother and several of the other boys. He slipped, and fell into the water. On rising, his brother attempted to rescue him, but in vain. The body was shortly after recovered, and was buried in the R.C. cemetery yesterday afternoon.
