Biography
Lourens (1837-1901) [1] was the son of Petrus Johannes Smit and Aletta Dorothea Regina Coetzer. In 1849, he married Catharina Johanna Robbertse, and they had 9 children, 7 daughters and two sons. Of these, 6 are listed on his Death Notice as surviving in Dec 1901.
