Research Notes

Death

An unsourced ancestry tree[3] claims Heinrich died in 1852 in Hannover, Lower Saxony, Germany, at the age of 39.

His death record was not found in the 1852 church book of Aegidien, Gartenkirche, Kreuzkirche and Marktkirche. (comment from unknown person)

To do: Search for his death record in the other Hannover church books.

Origin

Delores L. Kikuchi writes on ancestry:[3]

Johann Heinrich Gottfried Sinram sometimes had another middle name, namely Heinrich Gottfried Friedrich. He was born on December 20, 1813, in Lisbon, Portugal. On December 30, 1838 he married Dorothee Sophie Friederike Luise Tegtmeyer [Tegtmeyer-32] Dorothee Sophie Friederike Luise (Tegtmeyer) Sinram (1808-abt.1840) in the Lutheran Church in Hannover. They had 2 sons before she died about 1840. He then married Sophie Louise Tegtmeyer [Tegtmeyer-33] Sophie Louise (Tegtmeyer) Sinram (1808-1917) around March 1841. She gave her husband 8 children. Two of them died young. Johann died in about 1852.

There is no birth record listed on Family Search or Ancestry that verifies a birth in Portugal, only a one word reference in a marriage record mentioning Belem--which in the opinion of Michael Schindler is a typo or in error by the transcriber. The referenced Ancestry Tree has many sources listed, but not a single reference that these sources came from a professional researcher who actually found these records in a German church rather than source hints from Ancestry.

The marriage record mentions his birthplace as Belem.

There is Bredelem, 55km away from Markoldendorf, where his parents were from. Archion in Februar 2024 only had the index of baptisms online, but doesn't contain any Sinram around that time.

The Wikipedia article about Markoldendorf states: "auf dem Steinberg wurde Toneisenstein nahe Belemniten-haltigem Lias auf der Basis von Sub-Planicosta-Sandstein abgebaut", referring[4] to tell about mining activities near an area of Lias stone containing Belemnoidea. It might be that this turned into a toponym to refer to the place. This might imply that his birth can be found at the Markoldendorf church books, once Archion puts them online.

Michael, please do not modify transcripts of original records with annotation, but make clear, where the original ends and the comment begins. I asked about the record and the birthplace at our German Discord server. They agreed with the transcription "Belem". Christine (Rein) Hühn then suggested, that one should check for births in Markoldendorf, where the parents seem to be from. She assumed that "Belem" might be some tiny location name there. Marion Weber then pointed out the mention of Belemnoidea in the German Wikipedia article about the place. Unfortunately Archion doesn't have Markoldendorf online at the moment, but this GenWiki pages confirms, that they still exist and where they are.

It seemed to me I had perfect separation between the original and my comments. I removed both as I cannot verify the transcript as blong here for certain anyway with any of my sources as I do not have access to church records or the ability to read them. So for now I can only verify Eboldshausen as the town of birth for the daughter, a town between Hannover und Kassel, (a town I have been to during my Army service).
