Most likely, Mihály Simon was born in Zubogy. He was descended from the Simon family of Zubogyi; an old family that were colonists for a long time. See 1715 Tax list.

A likely "candidate" in the Zubogy records is in a death record for a Mihály Simon dated 20 Sep 1791 and it only states :

"Son or brother of Gergerly Simon of Zugogyi"" died at 52 years old" '

another possible candidate is a Mhaly Simon that died in 1789.

Is this Mihaly Simon's death record? But this one was born in 1717.

There is a marriage of a "widow" of Mihály Simon that took place in Zubogy on 22 Feb 1792. Her name was Sücs Susanná; she was recorded as the widow of Mihaly Simon and married a widower named Gőntzi Mihály.

If Judith Simon is her daughter, it very seeming that the Mihály Simon widow, also known as Sücs Susanná, would marry again. Her daughter was 17 years old when she herself re-married.

There is a death record for the widow of Mihály Gőntzi; she died at the age of 44 years old (b. in 1759) in 1803. The problem is that her name is written as Susanna "Szego", not Sücs?
