Robert Halley Shepherd was born on 2 June 1910 in Kurrajong, New South Wales, Australia [1], the son of Robert Shepherd and Agnes Annie Mitchell. Two of his siblings were Jesse Lindores Shepherd (1895–1971) and Cecil James Shepherd (1897–1962).
He married Ivy Jane Eggleton on 23 October 1929 in Windsor, New South Wales, Australia [2].
Robert died on 21 January 1970 in Kiama, New South Wales, Australia [3] and was buried in the Albion Park Cemetery, Albion Park, New South Wales, Australia [4].
