Verdeal was born in 1918. She was the daughter of William Shepherd and Jessie Balk. She passed away in 2007.
MILLPORT, Ala. - Verdeal Lollar, 88, died April 16, 2007, at her residence. Services are today at 2 p.m. at Candler Funeral Home in Vernon, Ala., with the Revs. Terry McAdams and Danny Dean officiating.
Burial will follow at Lampkin Cemetery in Sulligent, Ala. Mrs. Lollar was born Oct. 25, 1918, in Lowndes County to the late Monroe and Jessie Shepherd.
She was employed as a supervisor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gayner Lollar; son, Sherman Lollar; and daughter, Sandra Cook. She is survived by her sons, Dennis, and Mike Lollar, both of Sulligent, and Gene Lollar of Millport; daughters, Hazel Smith of Millport, Patsy Seals of Talladega, Ala., and Joyce Humbers of Sulligent; brother, Clay Shepherd of Steens; sisters, Irene Pounders and Bernice Guy; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
