Thanks for working on England profiles, When you add a location, please use England and not Kingdom of England. From 1707-1801 you may use England, Great Britain (or England), and after 1801, you may use England, United Kingdom (or England). This is per England project standards (recently clarified) but also so the profiles will appear in a search and reports for the country England. You can see more details here.https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:England_Project_Profile_Standards#Locations I will be modifying some of your profiles so that they are in the counts for Lancashire - I wanted to give you a full explanation before I started this.

Hi Jane - thank you for being a member of the Jewish Roots Project! I wanted to let you know about some new things we have going on.

- You can see new tabs at the top of our home page, where you can select topics to view or work on. You can also use our new maintenance categories - feel free to add them to your own family, or any other Jewish Roots profile, or work on the maintenance yourself, such as adding new records to profiles with only a couple sources.

-I'm sending an invitation to join GoogleGroups, which we are re-starting this week. We'll probably do most group chat there, but the most important things will be posted on G2G, which you will be notified about if you follow the jewish_roots tag.

-You can also join Wikitree's discord server, where we have a Jewish Roots chat channel.

-If you have ideas or suggestions for the project, feel free to reply here or send me a message.

Thank you! -Elaine, co-leader for Jewish Roots Project

I sent you a check-in message about ten days ago about the US Southern Colonies Project to ask you about your continued involvement but have not yet heard back from you. Do you still want to be in the project?

If I don’t hear from you by the same time next week I’ll assume that you’ve moved on to other things but you’re most welcome to re-join the project at any time.

Best wishes,

Mary~ Project Coordinator, Membership, US Southern Colonies

Hi Jana,

It’s time for our annual Ireland Project check-in! Please respond within the next two weeks to let me know:

  • If you are happy with the team you’re on or if you’d like to make a change. It is now required that all members with an Ireland project badge work on at least one of the project’s team(s), so if you’ve not yet signed up please do so in your reply to this check-in.
  • What you think the project is doing well, and what (if any) changes you would like to see us make? Are there any teams you would like to become more active in?
  • Would you be interested in helping to work on an Ireland Project newsletter?
  • Please give us some feedback on the use of google group and discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way for us to ensure you receive project communications? If you would like to join us on either one, Just let us know in your response and we will get you signed up.

Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within two weeks, we will assume you are no longer interested in participating in the Ireland Project, and your badge will be removed. If you wish to reapply for membership later, we will be happy to have you back. Many thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely, Jen Hutton, on behalf of the Ireland Project

This is June, 2021, which makes it time to have a check-in of members for your activity in the last two months. On behalf of the US Southern Colonies Project Leaders, I am doing a check-in with members to see if you were Active in the US_Southern_Colonies (US SoCOL) . Please reply with whether you have been active in work for the last two months in https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:US_Southern_Colonies?

Your work for US Southern Colonies might include Teams, Bio Builders, Quality Assurance, Sourcing, Profiles, Stickers for Southern Colonies, Categories for Southern Colonies, Managed Profiles, PPP profiles, Arborists, Data Doctors for Southern Colonies?

Please notify me of this activity or you can post a message on my page here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Richardson-7161 (If you do not know which team you are on, then contact me for clarification)

Thanks for your help.

Jana,

My Bumgardner Ancestors came from Switzerland and ended up in Virginia. There are no paths I can find that any of my Bumgardner Ancestors passed through Maryland or Pennsylvania. However, my DNA information is public and you are welcome to take a look.

Hi Jana,

Thanks for all of your work on the ancestors of Vice President Elect Kamala Harris. As we move towards Inauguration Day, the US Presidents Project is working towards management of these profiles. Your help in adding the project as a profile manager would be appreciated. [email address removed]

Hi Jana,

I sent you a message a while ago on behalf of the Germany Project and have yet to hear back from you. I hope you are well.

If I don’t hear from you in the next week or so I’ll assume you no longer wish to be in the project and go ahead and remove you. You would, of course, be most welcome to rejoin at any time via the G2G sign-up post.

Best wishes,

Kylie :-)

Hi,

On behalf of the Germany Project, I am currently undergoing our member check-in's and wanted to verify that you are still interested in being a member of the project. Are you currently assigned to or working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? We have many new teams so have a look on the Germany project page for the full list. I would be delighted to help you get setup in one or more of our collaborative teams!

We use Google groups for project collaboration, so if you are not yet setup, please submit a join request and we will get that approved as quickly as possible. We also ask that you check your follwed tags to make sure you are following the correct project tag (GERMANY) so you don't miss any disucssions in G2G.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions please ask. I would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project!

Please respond by private message. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

I see that we are 14th cousins (Uncertain). If you have the time, I could use some help understanding how to utilize my Family Tree & Ancestry.com DNA test results. Thanks

Thank you. Christiana was a great grandmother. I have removed Wright from my Ancestry family tree. I am still learning about sources.

Welcome to the County Kerry Sub-Project!

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:County_Kerry

As you may have heard, WikiTree is having a source-a-thon Oct 4 - Oct 7. Whether or not you decide to participate in it is up to you. If you want to help the county Kerry project, it would be great if you could put the unsourced Kerry category on any Kerry profiles you come across that need sources. Thank you!

Hi Jana,

The Ireland Project (previously the Irish Roots Project) has now changed its structure into Teams. We require everyone with the Ireland Badge to be a member of at least one Team or Sub-Team and our google group. See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Ireland for details. The Teams are :-

1. Categories Team
2. Counties Team
3. Managed Profiles Team
4. Membership Team
5. Profile Improvement Team
6. Topics Team
7. Diaspora

? Can you let me know if you’d like to stay on in the new project and which team(s) you’d like to join. Please also let me know your e-mail address so that I can get you added to the project’s Google Group or confirm you are already a member of the google group.

Many thanks,

Maria

Thanks for the comment Jana. I used the supplied defaults to clean up the Great Britain entries. Ellen has said it best below.

Thanks for your note, Jana.

No argument that that United States didn't exist before 1776! However, that doesn't make Pennsylvania part of Great Britain before 1776.

The Province of Pennsylvania was a colony of Great Britain, but it was not part of Great Britain, which is an island that includes England, Wales, and Scotland. The place names in Wikitree are supposed to the be the place names that were recognized/used at the time of the events we are describing. In the case of pre-1776 Pennsylvania, the highest-level geopolitical entity to be identified in the place name fields would be "Province of Pennsylvania" (or a variant such as "Pennsylvania Colony" or "Pennsylvania" -- usage seems to vary).

Jana,

Thank you for your contributions on the Trump family. I managed to locate the indexed record from your source page. the sources have been updated with the indexed records and the link you added is marked as "image of record".

It's so nice to collaborate with other WikiTreers. The index records were transcribed with FRUMP as the surname. Good work finding that record which may not have showed up doing a search for Trump.

Jana, do you happen to speak any other languages? Would you check out our languages template and add it to your biography? For example you might add

{{ Languages | en | ro-2 | he-1 }}

to the top of your biography if you speak English natively, intermediate Rumanian and basic Hebrew, or you could use de-4 to specify near-native German or ru-2 for intermediate Russian, and so forth up to ten languages.

It really helps to know who speaks all the different languages used on WikiTree! If there is a language you speak that is missing from our categories, I would be happy to add it. If you only speak English, you're very welcome to use this text to make that clear:

{{ Languages | en }}

Thanks,

Karen
