Agnes was enumerated in the 1900 Dakota Census staying at Mouse River School Twp. with her parents, Joseph 39, a farmer born in May 1861 in Canada. He came to the USA in 1865 and is not a citizen. Mother Bridget was 37 born Jun 1862 in Ireland and arrived in the USA in 1885. Agness 11, was born Aug 1889 in New York. Siblings living in the house were: Maude 9 born Jul 1890; Robert 7 born Jun 1892 New York, John 5 born Feb 1894 New York, Jules 3 born Jan 1897 in Maryland, and Annie 1 born Jul 1898 in North Dakota.[1]
She appeared in the 1916 Census in Canada at Maple Creek with her father Joseph aged 59 and born in Quebec and her mother Bridget 57, born in Ireland. Siblings were John A 22, Julius Alfred 18 and Annette 16. Agnes was 26 and a school teacher. The whole family now claims to be French except for Bridget. [3]
She was further enumerated in the 1926 Saskatchewan Census living in South Battleford. Agnes was 37 and born in the USA. Her father was born in New Brunswick and her mother in Ireland. [2]
She passed away in 1957 in Regina, Saskatchewan and is buried in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. [5]
Research Notes
The name Seymour may have originally been Simard. The Drouin Collection was searched and there is no Joseph Simard/Seymour/St.Mars born in May in 1861.
