I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. After high school I spent two years of active service in the US Navy as a storekeeper. After an additional six years in the reserves I was honorably discharged with a rate of 2nd Class Storekeeper.
I graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans with a BS degree in geology in 1960 and after two years of graduate school was hired by Mobil Oil Company as a exploration geophysicist. I left Mobil and worked for Unocal for 25 years before consulting for the last six years of my career. During my 39 years in the oil industry my wife Sallye and I lived in Louisiana, Florida, Texas, California, Oklahoma, Colorado and Alaska. Our three children were born in Louisiana, Texas and Florida respectively. We were fortunate to spend 11 months living in Adelaide, Australia near the end of my career when I got a job consulting for Santos Oil Company. I retired in 2001.
I cannot remember when I first became interested in genealogy but it had to be 20 or 25 years ago. I still regret not getting interested before my grandparents passed away because I am sure they had valuable information to provide.
My other interests are golf, bowling and the New Horizons Band in which I play clarinet. I did downhill ski until about three years ago.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you. You can click the reply button or message me with your answer. Thank you. Pam Kreutzer, Leader of the US Civil War Project
Thank You for the thank you, but the site is new for me, so what do you send them for? I was also in the Navy as an Engineman, and I work offshore as a Chief Engineer for Harvey Gulf. My Grandfather Louis C Coffman, who adopted my Mother at 4, was a company man for Texaco for decades before retiring in the early 80's. My Father retired for Halliburton 2 years ago. I think it likely our families have crossed paths before. Thanks again for the thank you!
