Hello Ulrich - I belong to the Unknowns Team, and we're trying to to reduce the number of “Unbekannt” profiles on Wikitree. The standard usage on Wikitree is "Unknown." When profiles have the surname "Unknown," they will show up in searches along with the married name. But when profiles have the surname "Unbekannt," they will not show up in searches along with the married name.

You have two profiles that are "Unbekannt." Would you mind changing them to "Unknown"?

We really appreciate your help with our collaborative WikiTree!

Hi,

The Germany Project Leaders are doing their semi-annual check-in with all project members and we want to verify that you’re still interested in being a member of the Project. Please respond by private message and let me know.

Are you currently working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? If not, take a look at our main Project page for a full list. We recently launched a new Profile Improvement Team and are seeking new team members. Let me know if you’re interested.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi Traci,

even though I'm interested, I'm running out of time. It has been shown that I'm just a card file corpse. So you can kick me out.

I wish you a happy and blessed Easter

Thanks for responding Ulrich. There are no participation requirements for Germany Project membership other than responding to our check-ins - which you just did. Let me know if you change your mind. We'd be really happy to have you stay with us!

I will remove you from the member roster as you asked, but you are welcome to re-join any time.

Best wishes and Happy Easter to you, Traci

Hi,

On behalf of the Germany Project, I am currently undergoing our member check-in's and wanted to verify that you are still interested in being a member of the project. Are you currently assigned to or working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? We have many new teams so have a look on the Germany project page for the full list. I would be delighted to help you get setup in one or more of our collaborative teams!

We use Google groups for project collaboration, so if you are not yet setup, please submit a join request and we will get that approved as quickly as possible. We also ask that you check your followed tags to make sure you are following the correct project tag (GERMANY) so you don't miss any discussions in G2G.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hardwork. If you have any questions please ask. I would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project!

Please respond by private message. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi!

I see that you just did some work on pre-1700 profiles and that you have had your pre-1700 badge for quite some time.

The requirements for sources, especially for early profiles have been altered since you got your badge. There is now a quiz to take before having the badge; https://www.wikitree.com/quiz/pre_1700 which you can check out.

You can also read the help for pre-1700 profiles; https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles in order to understand why a source like a family tree at Ancestry is not a valid source.

This is a link to reliable sources for the different projects on WikiTree https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Reliable_Sources_for_Pre-1700_Profiles

Ulrich, do you happen to speak any other languages? Would you check out our languages template and add it to your biography? For example you might add

{{ Languages | en | ro-2 | he-1 }}

to the top of your biography if you speak English natively, intermediate Rumanian and basic Hebrew, or you could use de-4 to specify near-native German or ru-2 for intermediate Russian, and so forth up to ten languages.

It really helps to know who speaks all the different languages used on WikiTree! If there is a language you speak that is missing from our categories, I would be happy to add it. If you only speak English, you're very welcome to use this text to make that clear:

{{ Languages | en }}

Thanks,

Karen

Hi

Wish you a Happy New Year. May 2018 bring you all you need to be happy.

Congratulation for adding your contributions in December. Whatever the quantity of your contributions, they all count. As I always say "Quality is better than quantity" to make a great family tree.

Thank you for being a Wikitreer,

Guy Constantineau - Wikitree leader

Despite the derailment of my own profile during the merge process, I think we will do just fine in our collaboration on our mutual extended families in our global efforts for WikiTree. Life 101. We're good!

Ulrich Seeckt ... You've got my attention. You apparently have my father-in-law, Willi Nennhaus, in your managed profiles. I have his descendant information and some information on his one and only sibling in addition to lots of information on his wife's branch of the family (also with origins from Ruegen). I was just adding his name and see that it will have to be a link to an existing profile of yours. Apparently I must be on the trusted list to be able to work with information already present within your work. How do I proceed if and when I am on that list?

Please add Pre-1500 as one of your followed tags above so that you can help with Pre-1500 tasks from G2G. Thanks for all you do.

Hi Ulrich,

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Be sure to also check out our Volunteer Hub to see our projects that really need new members!

Let me know, and I can help you figure out if there's a project that might interest you. Welcome aboard, we are glad to have you!
