Calogero Scimonetto is born 7 November 1862 in Corleone and baptized the next day. He is the son of Gioachino Scimonetto and Girolama Gagliardo. His godparents are Antonino Rizzotto and Angela Cutrone, a married couple.[1]
Calogero marries Angela Cascio on 11 January 1886. His father has died by this time, and his mother is living.[2]
Calogero and Angela have at least eight children: Girolama (1887)[3], Giuseppe (1888)[4], two sons named Gioachino (1889[5] and 1893), two sons named Bernardo (1890 and 1896), Giovanni (1891)[6], and Calogero (c. 1899).
Giuseppe dies at two years and nine months of age (b. 21 Mar 1888) on 19 December 1890.[7]
The first son named Bernardo dies on 28 January 1891 at four months of age (b. Sep 1890).[8]
The first son named Gioachino dies at three years of age on 27 January 1893.[9]
The second son named Gioachino is known from the record of his death at eight months of age (b. Apr 1893) on 7 December 1893.[10]
The second son named Bernardo is born 16 September 1896 and baptized three days later.[11]
Calogero, the son, is known from the record of his death at two years and ten months of age (b. April 1899) on 18 February 1902.[12]
The surviving son named Bernardo marries Bernarda Nicastro on 27 April 1920.[13]
