Thank you for contributing to the January 2022 Sourcerers Challenge! As you know, every source added to an unsourced profile improves our One Tree. Thank you for taking time from your own family history to help others.
Nan, WT Appreciation Team
Brinson-387 was born 1750 and died 1812 with no source for DoD.
I noticed that you have been using the Challenge Tracker track changes during the last few month's Sourcerers' Challenge. Please consider officially joining us for the Sourcerers' Challenge. You can find information, including how to join, on the Sourcerers Project page. To get directly to the current G2G thread, here's the August Challenge thread.
No pressure, every profile with a source makes our WikiTree better. Your work will continue to be included on the Tracking Sheet even if you do not register.
Your work is appreciated. Thanks for sourcing!

During the Connect-a-Thon I was able to connect a profile that you manage: Mathias Ranck https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Ranck-218 to the greater Ranck family. Here is the father of Mathias and his tree:

In looking at our connections I see that we are cousins through our Mullins and Stout ancestors.
Great to meet you!
best regards,
SJ
This is a courtesy email to say thanks for taking responsibility for more Orphaned Profiles. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" or "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.
Since some of the newest profiles you have adopted were uploaded from a GEDCOM, I wanted to make sure you know about the GEDCOMpare process guide and the AGC extension. The guide has some tips for making the best use of GEDCOM files and the AGC extension helps with the formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.
AGC works great for brand new profiles. It may or may not work well on the previously orphaned profiles. Some have been changed enough for the tool not to work. In those cases, the cleanup is a manual process. One of our mentors created a YouTube video that explains her process. I recommend adding links to the profiles of family members, rather than removing them as recommended in the video.
Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up GEDCOM biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Thank you for the links. I was unaware of the AGC extension; it will be very handy, I'm sure.

Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. It normally takes 24 hours from adding a test, or adding a new ancestor, or ancestor’s descendant, for WikiTree to display your name and test results on your ancestors and their descendants’ profiles for potential cousins to compare results with.
Have fun!
Cheryl ~ WikiTree Greeter
PS One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that others found very helpful. I hope that you will too.
This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far? Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful?
Please do let me know if you have any questions about how WikiTree works, no matter how small. My rule of thumb when I started was to search for an answer for five minutes, then reach out to my Greeters, and then resume searching. I might have found the answer before they got back with me but they sometimes offered a different way of doing the same thing which was easier.
You can reach me by using the reply link for this comment or send a private message from my profile by clicking my name. See you in the branches,

P.S. Did you discover that the tags on your profile are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? They also control the information which is included in the activity reports which you receive from WikiTree. You can add more, up to 20 total, or delete some if you are receiving irrelevant information.
Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Sources are very important here on Wikitree, especially on Pre-1700 profiles. It is how we show where we got the info and help others find it too. Find out more about sources here and more detailed info here.
The United States may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
If you have any questions, click reply below this message and I will get back to you.

Thanks for having a big heart and adopting the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention those profiles need.

First welcome to WikiTree, I saw that you just joined in April this year! Glad to have you aboard.
The reason I am writing is that I noticed you chose our Integrators Challenge for this month. Was you actually wanting to participate or was it in error?? Because what we do is try to find G2G questions that are a couple years old etc that ask for research of a particular family or ancestor, and then we create new profiles assisting them along the way.
Also one must be with WikiTree about 3 months to participate. Please see this page for more info: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Integrators_Challenge
Thanks, Dorothy B. Integrator project coordinator.
Thank you for the welcome. Joining the Challenge was unintentional. I was exploring and must have clicked a button or checked a box by mistake. It does sound interesting, but since I am still finding my way around the site, I completely understand having to wait 3 months. I may check back when I get a more solid footing.
Thanks, Aaron
