Biography

His father (Otto) Oscar Schneider (1906-1993) was a Captain in the U.S. Navy when Phil was born on 23 Apr 1947 at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Montgomery County, Maryland, USA.

He claimed to be an ex-government geologist and structural engineer who was involved in black projects including building underground military bases around the USA.

Phil Schneider married on 07 Jun 1987 in Carson City, Nevada, USA to Cynthia Marie Simon [1] and they had a daughter, Marie. They divorced in 1990 and remained friends.

He had a number of physical medical issues [2] [3] and a FBI-FOIA release [4] revealed that ...

"Schneider was a former patient of Dammasch State Hospital, Wilsonville, Oregon from July 30 1968 to January 29, 1969. While at Dammasch, Schneider was characterized as schizophrenic with chronic and differentiated traits. Under stress Schneider would mutilate himself for self attention and had amputated two fingers and a thumb …" [5] with a hacksaw at age 15. He self-mutilated his chest about 1978.

In May 1995 he appeared on the lecture circuit and his talking points included stealth technology, Black Budgets, Deep Underground Military Bases (DUMBs), UFOs, Aliens and World Government. Throughout his lecture tours across America, Phil mentioned that his father Oscar was involved with both the "Philadelphia Experiment" and "Operations Crossroads".

Seven months later, he was found dead in his Portland apartment on 17 Jan 1996, reportedly strangled by a catheter (black rubber tubing) found wrapped 3 times around his neck. It was determined that his death had occurred about a week before his body was discovered. The bizarre death was dismissed by the authorities as a suicide. [6] Mistakes were made which has caused some to question this assessment. [2]

Shortly after his death, when Cynthia returned to Philip’s apartment, she discovered that all his research material had vanished, including an original manuscript, lecture materials, higher math books, "alien" metals, military and family photographs. However, valuable goods, like jewelry, mineral specimens, gold and money were in the usual locations. [2]

He became one of the most controversial figures in the field of ufology.

Research Notes

He claimed his father had made a death bed confession about being a German U-Boat Commander during World War II and later became a repatriated U.S. Naval Captain (via Project Paperclip) who was involved in nuclear testing programs as well as serving on the U.S.S. Eldridge during the fabled "Philadelphia Experiment" disappearing act. But his uncle's family research and genealogical sources here in this family line on wikitree show that his father was a native American.
