BETTY J. CRUMRINE, 67, died at 5:10 a.m. Dec. 4, 2005, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 6, 1938, in Putnam County, to John and Clara Stoepfel Schmitz, who preceded her in death. On May 13, 1961, she married Clifford Crumrine, who survives in New Bavaria.

Mrs. Crumrine was retired as a tax consultant and co-owner of H&R Block, Defiance. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria, where she was choir director for 30 years and a member of the Rosary Altar Society, Catholic Ladies of Columbia and Restoration Committee. She was an avid bird lover and gardener.

Survivors also include a son, Dale (Stephanie) Crumrine of Glandorf; two daughters, Donna Szenderski of Toledo and Karen (David) Okuley of Wapakoneta; two brothers, Jerome (Joan) Schmitz of Ottawa and Ronald (Nancy) Schmitz of Glandorf; a sister, Eulitta Spangler of Glandorf; and 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Schmitz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria. The Rev. Stephen Stanbery will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, where a Scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Northwest Ohio Kidney Foundation, Putnam County Hospice or the charity of the donor’s choice.
