Harrison Hagan "Jack" Schmitt is an American geologist, retired NASA astronaut, and former United States senator from New Mexico.
He has the distinction of being the last man to arrive on the moon, during the Apollo 17 mission. (The last man to leave the moon was his crewmate, Eugene Cernan.)
On 04 Oct 1997, he was inducted into the US Astronaut Hall of Fame. [1]
