Caspar was born in 1833. He passed away in 1912. Caspar Schmidt was a farmer and had as many as 15 children with two wives.

Research Notes

Casper's surname, Schmidt, at some point was changed to Smith. Records seem to be found for this family under both Smith and Schmidt. This was because of growing public anti-German sentiments prior to WWI. It was a family decision.

1897 - Casper Schmidt appears in a published legal notice as the administrator of the Estate of C.E(rnst) Hahn, deceased [1] A William Hahn is mentioned in the initial legal notice published on March 11, 1897.
1907 - In the Matter of the Guardianship of Casper Schmidt published legal notice [2]
