Biography
Johann Kaspar was born in 1723 in Bittenfeld. He was the son of Johannes Schiller and Eva Margareta, née Schaz/Schatz.[1]
On 22 Jul 1749 he married Elisabetha Dorothea Kodweiß in Marbach. She was the daughter of innkeeper ("Löwenwirth") Friedrich Kodweiß.[2] Johann Kaspar and Elisabetha Dorothea had the following children:
- Elisabeth Christophine Friederike (4 Sep 1757 - 31 Aug 1847), married Wilhelm Friedrich Hermann Reinwald,
- Johann Christoph Friedrich (10 Nov 1759 - 9 May 1805), married Charlotte von Lengefeld,
- Luise Dorothea Katharina (23 Jan 1766 - 14 Sep 1836), married Johann Gottlieb Franckh,
- Maria Charlotte (20 Nov 1768 - 29 Mar 1774),
- Beata Friederike (4 May 1773 - 22 Dec 1773),
- Karoline Christiane "Nanette" (8 Sep 1777 - 23 Mar 1796).
Johann Kaspar was a doctor ("Wundarzt"), a military officer, and since 1775 the director of the ducal gardens, in the service of the Duke of Württemberg. For this reason the family had to move many times.
He passed away in 1796 in Schloss Solitude and was buried at the cemetery in Gerlingen.[3]
