Biography

Johannes Schenck died young.

Johannes was the second of four sons of Johannes Schenck to be given the name Johannes.^[1]

Johannes was born in New York, probably not long after his parents immigrated to New York from the Netherlands. His baptism on 20 December 1684 was recorded at the Reformed Dutch Church of New York. The record identifies him as the child of Mr. Johannes Schenck and Magdaleentie. Witnesses were Pieter Janszen and Marritie Willems. ^[2][3]

He is presumed to have died young, before 13 October 1689, when his parents gave the name Johannes to another son.^[4]
