Biography

Violet was born on 3 Apr 1911 in Oconomowoc, Waukesha, Wisconsin. She died in 1985 and is buried at Stone Lake Evergreen Cemetery in Stone Lake, Sawyer, Wisconsin. ^[1]

In 1920, she is living in Edgewater, Sawyer, Wisconsin, with her parents, Dorothea Maria (Kaiser) Scheel (1854-1921) and Mary Louise (Henchel) Scheel (1881-1957), four sisters (Ruth, Helen, Gladys, and Anna) and one brother (Frederick). ^[2]

In 1930, she is living in Shieldsville, Rice, Minnesota, with her parents, four sisters (Gladys, Anna, Lorrain, and Lavern), and one brother (Fred). ^[3]

In 1935 and 1940, she is living with the family of Karl and Josephine Ogren, in Sand Lake, Sawyer, Wisconsin, where she is working as a servant. ^[4] Karl Ogren was a Golden Gloves Welterweight Champion and was the owner and operator of the Sissabagama Boxing Camp for World Champions, in Sawyer County, Wisconsin.
