Teresa was born in 1919 in Kansas City, Kansas. She was the daughter of Margaret McDonnell and Leo F. Scanlon.
In 1930, after her mother had died, Teresa, her brother Joseph L. Scanlon, and her father Leo F. Scanlon were living in Kansas City, Missouri with her great-uncle, William P. Riley and his family. [1]
Teresa had six children, and eight grandchildren at the time of her death.
She passed away in 2002. Her obituary was published in the Baltimore Sun in 2002, and she is buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Like her brother, Teresa served during World War II, in her case, with the U.S. Coast Guard. [2]
