Biography

George Gilbert Sawyer was born October 17, 1844^[1] in Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland, Maine. He was the son of Ebenezer Sawyer and Catherine Libby.^[2][3]

He married Almeda Smith Dyer (1845-1918) on October 15, 1868 in Portland, Cumberland, Maine.^[4] They had one child.

1. Eva Beatrice Sawyer (1874-1956)^[5]

They lived in Manchester, Hillsborough, Hew Hampshire 1870, where George worked as a Clerk in a Store. ^[6]

He died at age 70 on July 31, 1915, in Portland, Cumberland, Maine,^[3][7] and was buried in the Bay View Cemetery in south Portland, Cumberland, Maine.^[1]
