Biography

The priest Giovanni Rocche’, assessor for the mayor, announces the intention to marry of Nicolo’ Saporito, 33 (b. 1853), shoemaker, son of Biagio Saporito and Orsola Ficarotta; and Giuseppa Liggio, 23 (b. 1863), housewife, daughter of the late Domenico Liggio and the late Margherita Moscato; on 15 February 1886 in Corleone. The witnesses are Salvatore Gennaro, 25 (b. 1861), and Giuseppe Nocera, 29 (b. 1857), both shoemakers. Only Nicolo’ signs his own name.^[1]

They marry in the Church on the same day.^[2]

On the SS Sempione sailing from Naples on 22 December 1899 an arriving in New York on 2 January 1900, are these passengers from Corleone, all bound for New York:
