The couple migrated to the Colony of Victoria (Australia), settling in Melbourne. Edmund was appointed to a position at Scotch College, Hawthorn.
Aged 55 years, Edmund passed away at his son's home in Omeo on 22nd October 1885. [3] The Argus published a brief notice of death: [4]
He was survived by his wife, who passed in 1903 in Beechworth (their son had moved there), Victoria.
