I was born in the little hospital in Fillmore, Utah during a blizzard. My mother said I did not want to enter in to the world and the Dr. had given up and asked my dad which one he should save. I guess I heard his answer and was born right after.
My brother and parents and I lived with my maternal grandparents, 2 uncles, and 4 aunts in their little railroad tie home that grandpa had built there in Fillmore, Utah. After about a years time we moved back to Missouri and lived first with my paternal Grandparents on the outskirt of Greenwood, Mo. There were still a few aunts in the household as well as a cousin or two. We ended up moving into a structure that had been built to be a chicken coop but ended up being a mother in law apt. From there we moved to Kansas city where we lived in our own apartment for a short while. It was there my parents after being married for 5 years decided to split up. My mother took me and my brother Jerry-Dan back to Fillmore to live with her parents while she went to Salt Lake city to work. We were there for about 6 months when my aunt Lola called my mom and told her to come get her kids. She did and the next12 years were a nightmare with her and her new husband. Both my brother and I hated being there as they both made us feel unwanted but summers were a gift, we got to go spend them with her parents, there we were made to feel loved and wanted, at least for a few months every summer. I think it was my saving Grace.
