Biography

In 1850 Nehemiah was living in Union, Broome County, New York State, and was recorded in the census as N J D Sacket, a sawyer, aged 38 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Emeline, 31, and their children, Charles, 8, and Edwin, aged five.

In 1860 he was living in Liberty, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, and was recorded as Nehemiah Sacket, a farmer, aged 42. Living with him were his wife Emeline, 40, and their children, Charles, 18, Edwin, 15, Hellen, 7, Harvey, 5, Lorinda, 3, and Allice, aged one. In 1870 he was living in Liberty and was recorded as N J D Sackett, a farmer, aged 55 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Emeline, 50, and their daughter Augusta, aged 12. In 1880 he was living in Liberty and was recorded as N J D Sackett, head of household, married, a farmer, aged 63 and born in New York State. Living with him were his wife Emeline, aged 60 and born in Connecticut, and their daughter Augusta, aged 19.
