Jerome was born in 1659. He was the son of Charles Ryves and Jane Ogden.
He was educated by Mr Ryder and entered Trinity College Dublin on 22 November 1675, aged 16. B.A. 1680, M.A. 1683. [1]
Jerome married Anne Maude, daughter of Anthony Maude and Alice Hartstonge. She is mentioned in the 1704 will of her uncle Standish Hartstonge.
In 1690/1 he became Chancellor of Christ Church, Dublin, and his appointment is dated February 17th. [Lib. Mun.]
In May 1692 he resigned and becane Dean of Killaloe. He obtained this deanery by patent dated February 22nd. He was installed on February 24th, or March 11th. (FF.)
In 1699 he resigned from the Deanery of Killaloe and became Dean of St. Patrick's, Dublin
He died on 1 February 1704; and was buried in his Cathedral, within the rails on the north side of the altar. He did not leave a will. The name on the probate record is ' Hieronimus Ryves'.[2]
