Hezekiah was born Mar 18 1745 in Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut to Nathan Russell and Sarah [1]
Hezekiah fought at the battle of Bunker Hill and throughout the Revolutionary War. His children were all born in Connecticut. His son, Dan was the first permanent settler in Orwell, Bradford Co., Pennsylvania. Dan and his wife Polly left Connecticut in the Spring of 1794 and arrived at Shepard's Creek. They moved to Sheshequin for a year and then settled in Orwell, A few years later, after his wife had died [correction -- see NOTE below], Hezekiah left Connecticut and followed Dan to Orwell.

Hezekiah married again in his later years on October 22, 1822. Heverly quotes from The Settler: "...Capt. Hezekiah Russell (a Revolutionary soldier), aged 78 years, and Mrs. Elenor Osbourne, aged 74 years, both of Orwell." The marriage was brief, as Hezekiah died suddenly January 3, 1823. aged 79 years. (There is a date/age discrepancy here, providing the date of birth is correct)
