Biography

Elizabeth "Bessie" Brightwell Russell was born on January 9, 1886, in Montgomery County, Tennessee, to James Russell and Alice (Brown) Russell.

Records indicate that in 1880 and 1900, Bessie resided in Hopkinsville, Christian County, Kentucky. On May 15, 1907, she married Albert Percy Crockett in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

By 1910, Bessie and Albert had moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma. Tragically, Albert passed away on October 29, 1919, in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee.

In 1920, Bessie was still living in Oklahoma City. Sometime in 1925, she married widower Samuel Walter Hayes in Oklahoma.

Records from 1930, 1940, and 1950 indicate that Bessie continued to reside in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.

Bessie Brightwell Russell passed away around 1979 in Oklahoma.
