Biography

Born in Brentwood, Essex, England during WWII. Lived childhood in Little Burstead, Essex. Joined the Royal Air Force in 1959 and spent the next twenty eight years travelling the world. In 1984 visited Great Braxted church looking for grave of my grandfather, no marker so wrote to the vicar. He confirmed my grandfather was buried there,"between the yew tree and the water tank." I was hooked!

Researched family tree in Essex Record Office then went on to the rest of UK. Joined The Guild of One Name Studies.

DNA test with FTDna and Ancestry has linked me with Rushing's in the United States.

Still on the trail.

Hello Peter,

Just as a reminder, your Watchlist has 11456 profiles. This is very large. Our systems are designed to handle 5,000. Contributing to more than 5,000 profiles is great (the community thanks you for it!) but don't feel you have to keep so many on your Watchlist. Despite the terminology, there is no shame in "orphaning" Open profiles. :-) This invites others to share responsibility. Since you have more than 10,000, Bulk Trusted List changes tool may not work for you. If so, please contact [email address removed] for help reducing your Watchlist.

Hello Peter - please would you expand the location fields for your English ancestors so that they have the format [Town, County, England] with no street address preceding it. This format makes the location findable in the search system, and is the England Project standard format.

Many thanks - message me if you have any questions about this. Jo, England Project Data Doctor (and fellow Essex-ite)

I’ve not heard back from you regarding the Military and War Project check-in for 21 days. The leader will remove you from the project for now.

If you’d like to rejoin at any stage you would be most welcome to do so by answering the G2G sign-up post here

Hi Again,

I sent you a check-in message a week ago about the Military and War Project to ask you about your continued involvement but have not yet heard back from you. Do you still want to be in the project? If I do not hear from you by the same time next week, I will assume that you've moved on to other things. You are most welcome to re-join the project at any time.

Best wishes,

Mary~ Project Coordinator, Military and War Project

Peter...I note that you are a descendant of Roberts from Ketteringham, Norfolk. I am a descendent of Roberts from swaffham, Norfolk. I wonder if at some point there is a connection with both families being so close geographically. There is an Ann Peachment on Ancestry that is a Roberts descendant who has researched Roberts in the area from the pre1800’s. Regards, Jeff Roberts

Thanks for your updates to the profile of Mary (Rushing) Smith. We each seem to have some information for her. Would you share your sources on the profile please.

Thanks!

I saw your proposed merger of Rushing-1287 and Rushing-3188. Thanks for proposing it. I agree and have approved.

When I did my profile, somehow I missed the one you had. I was doing Ida's profile as spouse of the son of Julia Boone Spradley. Julia is my three great aunt.

I did go in this morning and edit a few things [cleaning up some errors]. At the time, I didn't find info on her parents; just their names on death certificate, so I wasn't able to input that info.

Hi Peter, I reversed the changes you made to https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Bean-5083 biography. He is my third Great Grandfather who I added to the LDS Project. The LDS project template is used by Wikitree's LDS project, LDS sticker and Early LDS sticker are used as categories used by the LDS project. The sources for the stickers and template are shown in the sources section. Those are The BYU Nauvoo Community Project and Mormon Pioneers Overland Travel Database. I would appreciate it if you would contact me when making significant changes to his profile. Wikitree is about collaboration. Please if you disagree send me a message so we can discuss it. Thank you.

Hello Peter,

I am new to WikiTree so I’m not real sure how to merge a file. I wanted to share our connection as you have a file on the Rushing’s in America. Henry Lee Rushing was my great grandfather on my mother’s side. Please take a look at my profile and hopefully we can connect our information. Thank you, Bill Crawford. 16217
