Biography

Isabella Rudkin was born around 1818, the daughter of Arabella Sackville Cotter and Henry Rudkin.[1][2]

As a child, she was a musical performer, known as The Infant Lyra. From her first appearance as a 2-year-old harpist, til when she turned six, the proceeds of her concerts raised over £30,000.[3]

Isabella married (1) George Sackville Cotter Hingston, her first cousin, on 3 April 1841.[1][2]

On the 3d inst. at Gourock House, Renfrewshire the residence of Lieutenant-General Darroch, George S. Cotter Hingston. Esq., Barrister, of Cork. to Isabella, daughter of Henry Rudkin, Esq., late of Borris. county Carlow.

Gourock House was the the residence of the bride's uncle, Lieutenant General Duncan Darroch.

Their eldest daughter was Arrabella Ann Hingston (1849–1916).[4]

George died in 1858.

Isabella married (2) 22 March 1860, George Rainy, esq., of Bassay, as his third wife.
