Petra,

If you haven't been able to find the correct last name for Unknow-503, please change it to the Wikitree standard usage: Unknown. This will make the profile searchable on our collaborative tree and increase the chances that someone will help to find the Last Name at Birth. If you don’t know how to do this, drop me a note, and I’ll help. Thanks! Nan, Unknowns team

Thanks for your note about the source you have used for the pre-1700 profiles, Petra. I don't see that website identified on the German Roots Project Reliable Sources page.

Would you please check with the leaders or the Google Group of the German Roots Project to find out if it is a source which can be used without additional sources.

Thanks,

Debi

Hi Petra,

Thanks for all your work on WikiTree. I noticed that you recently created a profile for a pre-1700 ancestor from your GEDCOM file.

The Pre-1700 Profile help page and the Pre-1700 Quiz explain sthe sourcing needed at the time the for pre-1700 profiles are created. The Add Profile box has a space for those sources. Please don't create anymore pre-1700 profiles without the sources.

We're looking for reliable sources to add to the various lists. Would your sources be good additions?

Thanks,

Debi

Hi Petra,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, coordinating with others is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Based on your contributions the German Roots Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to review other possibilities. Read the goals and tasks of the projects and join those which are a good fit.

Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.

Petra:

Welcome to WikiTree! Thank you for your interest.

Kindly read ALL that follows...

As soon as you receive this confirmation, you can immediately edit/add to your profile.

Please set your own Profile Privacy Level at the "light yellow" setting - just be cautious with what you put into the Biography section as that will be public. This way, others can see your Family Tree on the Wiki which will help tremendously with the collaborative effort going on here. You'll be meeting cousins!!!

Other than that, you can start entering your family members and their data immediately.

Please remember to read and sign the Honor Code.

Have fun and good hunting!

Familienforschung ist ein sehr spannendes Forschungsgebiet.

Ich finde die Idee eines weltweiten Stammbaums genial.
